Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on mandatory warnings in advertising of non-alcoholic tonic drinks, including energy drinks, about the dangers of excessive consumption, the relevant document is posted on the official website of the legal acts.
The law stipulates that advertising of these drinks must be accompanied by such a warning in each case, and sets requirements for its size and duration.
For example, in advertisements distributed in radio programs, the warning duration should be at least three seconds, in television programs, film and video services - at least five seconds. At the same time, at least 7% of the frame area should be allocated to such a warning, and at least 7% of the advertising area (space) in advertisements distributed by other means.
Also, advertisements for tonic drinks should not be directed at minors and contain information about the presence of biologically active additives and vitamins in such drinks.
The law will enter into force on March 1, 2026.
