Digital marking of goods has shown its effectiveness, and it needs to be further developed and improved. This was announced on Wednesday by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Executive Secretary of the Bureau of the Supreme Council of United Russia Denis Kravchenko during the XVII National Industrial Congress.

"Digitalization of industry is especially relevant due to the high speed of decision-making both at the state level and at the level of specific enterprises. To do this, it is necessary to ensure end-to-end and continuous transparency of all processes. In some industries, this has already happened due to marking, which has shown its effectiveness. I think it is necessary to continue to develop and improve the marking system. It gives businesses an understanding of what is happening with their products at each specific site - from production to the final consumer," Kravchenko said.

He also added that it is necessary to develop a risk-based approach to business inspections. "Supervisory authorities should focus on those who commit violations and identify criminal chains," the deputy said.

The national digital marking system has been introduced in Russia since 2019. It applies to dairy products, packaged water, medicines, tobacco, shoes, light industry goods, fur coats, perfumes, tires and cameras. Experiments are also being conducted on marking dietary supplements, antiseptics, medical products, beer and low-alcohol beverages, as well as electronic means of delivering nicotine and liquids for them.
