The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to unify the rules for labeling medicines, soft drinks, including juices, as well as phones and laptops in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), follows from the message of the commission.

It is clarified that, according to the adopted documents, the Member States will independently determine the date of introduction and the procedure for labeling products by means of identification on their territory, notifying the EEC no later than six months in advance.

"The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission considered a set of initiative proposals of the Parties and decided to establish unified rules for labeling medicines, soft drinks, juice, as well as phones and laptops in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union," the message reads.

Thus, in all cases, recognition of identification means of other states formed in accordance with unified requirements will be guaranteed in each of the EAEU countries. At the same time, due to the peculiarities of the labeling system of medicines in Kyrgyzstan, the Council provided for an exemption that allows applying requirements to the means of identification that differ from the decision taken.

"In connection with the positions of the member states of the Union, the decisions separately noted the lack of intentions of a number of countries to introduce labeling at the current stage. So, with respect to medicines, it is the Republic of Armenia, with respect to soft drinks and juices – the Republic of Kazakhstan, and with respect to laptops and phones – the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic," the message adds.
