The State Duma at its plenary session on March 4 will discuss in the first reading a bill on the introduction of fines for the sale of energy products to children. This was announced by Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the House of Parliament.

"The State Duma will consider a number of important, including socially significant bills in the coming week. On Tuesday, March 4, deputies will discuss in the first reading the establishment of responsibility for the sale of non-alcoholic tonic drinks to children, in particular energy drinks," Volodin said, quoted by the press service.

The bill was submitted to the House of Parliament by a group of deputies in December last year. A new norm is proposed to supplement the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. Thus, for the retail sale of non-alcoholic tonic drinks to minors, including energy drinks, a fine of up to 50 thousand rubles is provided for citizens. It is proposed to impose a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles for officials, and up to 500 thousand rubles for legal entities.
