The share of domestic brands of carbonated drinks in the Russian market in June 2025 was 95.5% in physical terms, whereas in June 2022 this figure was 62.5%, the Nielsen analytical company told RIA Novosti.
"If we talk about Russian and foreign brands in the soda category, it becomes noticeable that local brands have dramatically increased their presence in the market in recent years. If in June 2022 domestic brands accounted for 62.5% in the soda category, then in June 2025 it was already 95.5% in physical terms," the analysts said.
According to them, this happened due to the transformation of the product range in 2022, when major foreign brands, including Coca Cola, Pepsi, Sprite, and 7 Up, left the Russian market, and local soda alternatives were launched instead.
The company clarified that the statistics are based on an audit of more than 180 retail chains and traditional outlets throughout Russia.
