Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that simplifies the registration of equipment for the production of tobacco products. The document is published on the official portal of legal information.
The accompanying materials explain that previously, there have been situations where organizations have repeatedly applied for registration of equipment, which indicated both the main technological equipment subject to state registration and equipment that does not need to be registered. In such cases, Rosalokoltabakcontrol was forced to refuse to register all the claimed equipment. The new law gives the agency the opportunity to register the equipment for which it is necessary and decide whether to refuse registration of other devices.
The document also adds to the list of grounds for refusal to register the equipment. In particular, such a decision will be made with respect to devices submitted for registration that are in disassembled or unmounted condition.
The law also states that in order to successfully complete the procedure, the main technological equipment must not be mothballed during the consideration of an application for a license to manufacture tobacco and nicotine-containing products. In turn, the license itself will not be issued if the place of business specified in the license does not match the actual one.
The law will enter into force on September 1, 2025.
