The Government of the Russian Federation considers draft laws that will provide additional revenue from the whitewashing of the tobacco market. As the correspondent of IA REGNUM reports on October 17, this was stated by the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes.
"In the budget, we did not increase the tax burden in terms of indirect taxes, with the exception of the excise tax on sugary drinks, but we set additional tasks for ourselves on VAT and excise taxes on tobacco. This is due to the fact that we plan to use modern methods of administration. The Tax Service has all the necessary capabilities for this and has prepared a whole package of legislative initiatives on tobacco, which we hope to introduce in the nearest future. The government currently considers this and will give us additional revenue from the whitewashing of this market," the minister said.
