The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill according to which advertising of non-alcoholic tonic drinks, including energy drinks, should be accompanied by a warning about the dangers of their excessive consumption. The document was initiated by a group of deputies.

The bill was developed according to the instructions of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Maxim Topilin, head of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, said earlier.

According to the bill, the time of such a warning should be at least three seconds in radio programs, and at least five seconds in television programs, film and video services. At least 7% of the frame area should be allocated to such a warning, and at least 7% of the advertising area in advertisements distributed by other means.

"Unlimited consumption of non-alcoholic tonic drinks (including energy drinks) promotes the ingestion of tonic components (caffeine, taurine, L-carnitine, glucuronolactone, etc.) above the permissible levels of daily intake, which can harm health, including the cardiovascular system, digestive organs, and nervous system," it says. in the conclusion of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection.
