Following a joint meeting of the Bureaus of the Boards of OPORA RUSSIA and the NP OPORA Association, held on March 10, it was decided to reformat the work of the Excisable Goods Committee. Elena Dubankova, a member of the Presidium of OPORA RUSSIA, was elected as the new Chairman of the Committee. Vladimir Mishelovin, a member of the Presidium of the NP OPORA Association, was elected Deputy Chairman of the Committee. Arkady Yelin has been appointed Executive Secretary of the Committee.
The structure will coordinate work on all categories of excisable products throughout the country.
The Committee's structure will interact in the field of activity.:
· Commission on Tobacco and Nicotine-containing Products (Chairman: V.B. Mishelovin; Deputy Chairman: E.S. Fedotov);
· Commission on Alcohol and Wine Industry (Chairman: Kashirin M.S., Vice-President of OPORA RUSSIA; Executive Secretary: Sakharov D.V.);
· Commission for the Production and Turnover of Breweries and Fermentation Beverages (Chairman: I.A. Khavsky, Member of the Board of OPORA RUSSIA; Executive Secretary: Sosyurka A.Yu.);
· Commission for the Development of the Soft Drinks Industry (Chairman: Andreeva A.Yu., member of the Presidium of the NP OPORA Association; Executive Secretary: Stafeichev A.A.);
· The Commission on the Fuel complex (candidates are under approval).
Among the key goals and objectives of the Committee and Commissions on Excisable Goods:
· consolidation of legal market participants in the fight against the illegal segment;
· solving systemic issues of markets of all categories of excisable goods;
· support for the development of domestic producers;
· protection of interests and development of legal small retail;
· strengthening cooperation with industry associations (SPINI, Soyuznapitki, etc.);
· strict compliance with the requirements in the fight against teenage smoking;
· systematic educational programs for market participants.
