Operatives of the Southern Customs liquidated an underground factory for the manufacture of cigarettes and tobacco in the Rostov region, a case has been initiated. This was reported to journalists by the press service of the Southern Operational Customs.
"During the operational search activities in the city of Morozovsk, customs officers found an automated full-cycle line, more than 120 thousand packs of cigarettes of the brands Dove, Korona, Mac, Kalipso and over 400 thousand unpacked cigarettes. Also, 8.5 tons of mixed crushed tobacco, packaging materials for the manufacture of cigarette packs, more than 1 million counterfeit Belarusian excise stamps and seals and accounting documents of the production process of various organizations were seized from illegal circulation," the report says.
The department clarified that it was planned to sell counterfeit cigarettes in the Krasnodar Territory, Moscow and Rostov regions.
"Cases have been initiated against the organizer and his accomplice under clause "b" of Part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production and storage of goods and products without marking, committed on a particularly large scale) and clause "a" of Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal stay in the Russian Federation of foreign citizens, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement). The issue of initiating a case under Article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (evasion of customs payments on a particularly large scale) is being resolved," the press service added.
