Mobile groups of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia in 2022 identified 92 thousand tons of goods transported in violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation, including 29 thousand tons of timber, the press service of the FCS reported.

"In 2022, mobile groups of the Federal Customs Service of Russia identified 92 thousand tons of goods transported in violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation, including 862 tons of "sanctions" and over 29 thousand tons of timber and timber products. In 2021, more than 77 thousand tons of prohibited goods were identified, including almost 1 thousand tons of sanctioned and 5.6 thousand tons of timber," the press service noted.

According to the results of 2022, an increase in the import of tobacco products with violations was recorded by 2.5 times - customs control revealed 65.5 million packs of illegal cigarettes compared to 25.5 million in 2021. 153 cases of administrative offenses and 24 criminal cases were initiated.

In addition, the mobile groups of the Federal Customs Service stopped the export of 443 tons of grain and more than 1.1 thousand tons of sugar, the export of which was banned in 2022. In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the export of 40.5 thousand tons of prohibited goods, including 12 thousand tons of machinery, has been stopped.
