The Kuzbass Parliament passed a law in two readings, according to which the sale of energy drinks to children will be prohibited. This is reported on the website of the administration of the regional Cabinet of Ministers.

It is clarified that we are talking about the law "On the establishment of restrictions in the retail sale of non-alcoholic tonic drinks, including non-alcoholic energy drinks."

Currently, the sale of non-alcoholic tonic drinks to minors is not regulated by federal law. According to the innovation, from March 1, 2024, persons under the age of 18 will not be able to purchase such products in the Kemerovo region. The measure will affect, among other things, the sale of energy companies through vending machines.

In early January, as the Parliamentary Newspaper wrote, a bill was submitted to the State Duma proposing to ban the sale of energy products in buildings where children's, youth, educational or medical organizations are located.

The document also provides for a ban on the sale of energy drinks in sports and recreation and sports facilities, cultural organizations, in all types of public transport and gas stations. A separate clause prohibits the sale of energy drinks to minors.
