The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that in the Southern Federal District, according to the results of the II quarter of this year, the largest share of the turnover of counterfeit cigarettes.
The growth of the illegal tobacco market was recorded in three southern regions: the Rostov region (up to 40%), Krasnodar (up to 14.4%) and Stavropol Territories (up to 17.7%). Such data was given by Vladislav Zaslavsky, Deputy director of the Department of digital marking of goods and legalization of product turnover of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation during the conference "Kommersant Yug".
V. Zaslavsky compared the data with the results of last year's research. In 2021, the illegal turnover of tobacco products in the Don, Kuban and Stavropol regions amounted to 37.5%, 10.4% and 17.5%.
Zaslavsky also noted that in the first nine months of this year, the illegal cigarette market decreased by 28% compared to the same period in 2019.
