State Duma deputy Biysultan Khamzaev sent appeals to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov and the head of Roskomnadzor Andrey Lipov, in which he asks to check the data on the remote sale of vapes on Wildberries. Copies of the documents are at the disposal of TASS.

"I would like to draw your attention to the fact that individual marketplaces and online stores continue to sell such devices remotely. The citizens who turned to me are outraged that one of the largest online stores in Russia, Wildberries, is still carrying out such an implementation <...>. I ask you to give instructions to conduct an inspection and take the response measures established by law," Khamzayev wrote.

The deputy noted that on the official Wildberries website "a large assortment of all kinds of smoking devices, liquids with and without nicotine content, heating cartridges are presented for sale."

In his opinion, the uncontrolled sale of vapes through an online store leads to the fact that "the final recipient-consumer is minors." "I consider this a blatant case of violation of the current federal legislation. Moreover, earlier the management of the marketplace as a PR campaign stated that it was withdrawing these products from sale," the deputy noted.

The law banning the sale of all vapes, including nicotine-free ones, to minors and on tightening the rules for the turnover of such devices came into force on June 1. The document provides that devices for the consumption of nicotine-containing products can be purchased only in shops and pavilions, trade in them at fairs, exhibitions, by remote means of sale or using vending machines is prohibited.
