Sales of vapes to minors are prohibited in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law according to which the sale of vapes to minors will be banned in the country. The relevant document is posted on the official portal of legal information.

Also, this law concerns the tightening of the rules for the turnover of vapes. From June 1, 2023, devices for the consumption of nicotine-containing products will be available only in stores and pavilions. At the same time, the sale of such devices at fairs, exhibitions, by remote means of sale or using automatic machines will be prohibited. It is not allowed to display and demonstrate vapes in a retail facility. However, the exception will be cases when the buyer asks to show this product after reviewing the list of products sold. In addition, in order to reduce the demand for vapes, a ban is imposed on the use of discounts from the price of such devices by any means, including through the issuance of coupons and coupons.

This law prohibits the sale of all types of vapes to minors, including nicotine-free ones.

On April 13, the bill banning the sale of vapes to minors was adopted by the State Duma in the second and third readings. On April 26, this law was approved by the Federation Council.
