The Far Eastern Federal District (Far Eastern Federal District) topped the list of the most smoking regions in Russia. As it became known from a study by the CRPT (operator of the state labeling system "Honest Sign"), there are 8,087 conventional cigarette packages per 1,000 people. Among the leaders in cigarette sales, the Magadan Region with 12,183 conventional packages and the Kamchatka Territory with 10,897 packages per 1,000 people also stand out.
As for alternative tobacco products, the Southern Federal District has become the leader in the consumption of cigarillos, with a result of 60 conditional packages per 1,000 people over the age of 15. At the same time, the largest volume of hookah tobacco consumption was recorded in the Northwestern Federal District, where 85 conventional packages accounted for the same population group.
The Northwestern Federal District became the first in terms of consumption of heated tobacco with an indicator of 966 conventional packages per 1000 people. Among the regions with high sales volumes, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (1,639 packages) and the Murmansk Region (1,439 packages) stand out.
Interestingly, the Republic of Crimea has a record for the consumption of cigarillos — 143 conventional packages per 1000 people, and St. Petersburg is the leader in the use of tobacco for hookah with 136 packages per 1000 people.
