BAT-SPb has changed its CEO

Sergey Lundberg has been appointed CEO of British American Tobacco—SPb JSC (BAT-SPb) since April 19, SPARK data says. Previously, since April 2021, this position was held by Gary John Noble.

The change of the top manager is connected with the planned rotation in this position, the press service of BAT Russia told DP. They added that "one of the management's focuses for the near future is to ensure continuous production at the factory in conditions of objective difficulties, including the logistical plan that the entire market is facing."

A month earlier, BAT announced that it was leaving Russia, and began the process of transferring the business "in full compliance with international and local legislation." Later it became known that the Russian business is not closed, but structured, transferring to another owner.

The company added that the restructuring will also affect production in St. Petersburg. "This is a long process, during which our priority is uninterrupted production during the transfer process and after it. We are also making every effort to ensure the future employment of all 2,500 employees of the company, including factory staff," the press service of BAT Russia noted. Details of the asset transfer transaction are not disclosed at the moment.

As part of the BAT portfolio in Russia, in particular, the Kent, Rothmans, Java Zolotaya brands, as well as Glo tobacco heating technologies and Neo sticks.

According to SPARK, in 2021, the revenue of BAT-SPb JSC increased by 12.5% to 39 billion, net profit decreased by 35% to 1.7 billion.
