Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova instructed Rospotrebnadzor and the Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Market Control to submit monthly to the State Duma information on the measures taken to eliminate violations identified during the inspection at retail outlets of nicotine-containing products (in particular, vapes). This is stated in Golikova's letter sent to the relevant departments (available to TASS).

As Maxim Topilin, the head of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, explained in an interview with TASS, this letter was a response to the initiative of the committee, which sent an appeal to the government on strengthening supervisory measures regarding nicotine-containing products. "The appeal informs that the work carried out by the deputies of the State Duma on the ground shows that the requirements of federal legislation on restrictions, primarily the calculations of nicotine-containing liquid and devices for heating it, are not being fulfilled," the document says.

Taking into account the above, the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy proposes to instruct Rospotrebnadzor, together with the Federal Service for Control of Alcohol and Tobacco Markets, "to submit to the State Duma data on the measures taken to eliminate violations identified as a result of inspections of nicotine-containing products (in particular, vapes) monthly until the 10th day." "We believe it is possible to support this proposal," the Russian government document says.
