Roskachestvo plans in the first half of 2023 to check the quality of Russian carbonated drinks that appeared on the shelves instead of the departed foreign brands, the head of Roskachestvo Maxim Protasov told reporters in Chelyabinsk on Tuesday.

"It is important for us that when replacing products on the shelf, the consumer loses nothing, so that those products that replace imported brands in different categories are not worse in quality. Here I can say that we have one of the tricks (...) for the first half of next year, there will be a study of such substitutes," Protasov said.

He reminded that a number of foreign brands of carbonated sweet drinks have left the Russian market.

"Instead of them, as our colleagues have now estimated, about 70 new brands of such sodas have appeared," Protasov said.

He added that Roskachestvo intends to "compare and see how the replacement went for fans of such sparkling water painlessly."
